Princess was 9 years and 3 months old when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 1/18/12; she had cancer. We adopted her through Animal Services at the County in Santa Maria in September 2005 when she was 2 years old. She was an unclaimed stray, go figure. I have worked from home for the last 5 years, and she has been my constant companion. I miss her every day. In our time together, she was always an indoor dog, and she was never kenneled. All our trips were planned around her coming too, after all, we were her pack. As a result, we stayed in interesting places and have dined on many patios. We have met great people that we would have likely never talked to if it weren't for her.
She was a friendly girl who loved belly rubs and would even roll over for a kind stranger. In her time with us, she never met anyone she did not like. She has shopped with the best of them at Nordstrom's, Macy's, Sephora, and Territory Ahead, just to name a few. Her favorite "dog" activities included walking with the neighborhood kids to the bus stop every morning, her evening walk, and chasing the water coming out of the hose was her favorite treat.
I could go on, but I won't. There is nothing like the love of a dog -- it is unconditional. For the many times I have heard someone say they adopted a rescue, I have to reply, she rescued me.

Here's a couple of pics before we lost our boy Yogi to cancer back in summer of 2005. We lost him on 12/3/05.
