Never take a candy bar from a con, when it's offered. NEVER! Stay away from people who are more than willing to help for FREE! Nothing is FREE; there is always a price. All us guys over here had to clean up the yard we all kinda had a space to keep our things. Things we didn't want to keep in our living spaces. I have a hard time getting rid of things myself; I still have things that belonged to my friend who died long, long ago - most of it junk. Her parents had no problem throwing it away. Anyway a small corner of the yard was stacked with shelves, paint, books, otter things, and a busted washing machine I'd planned to have fixed, someday. The Landlord saw my little pile and went BONKERS! "Get rid of this MESS!" He yelled. I'm sure I wasn't the only one that "Got It" because two other neighbors were also in the yard cleaning it up on FRYday - a day meant for fried fish.
I had already given Gentleman Jim 40.00 for the dumping of all my stuff and didn't mind if others threw their stuff in, whatever the truck would hold fine with me. One of the neighbors who is always more than willing to help wanted to toss in an old car seat. He wanted to toss in 10.00 dollars for the dump, but didn't have it right now. Instead he said he would transport the washing machine, if I tossed his car seat on top of the load. Either way I had no problem with that. I do things all the time for others and don't think two ways about it. It's the way I was bought up. Will everything went smoothly the next day, Saturday we loaded everything and it was ready to go when Mister car seat bought over a couple boards to toss in of course I had no problem with it. I being the jokester I yam said "50 Bucks!" The dude went off, "I helped you! You owe me!" He wasn't happy anymore he had this mean look on his face. The first thing that came to my mind was "Never accept a candy bar from a con."
It took me a minute of thinking but he really did not help me. The washing machine was going anyway he only offered a trade to help himself the car seat and 10 bucks which he already offered to Gentleman Jim. He didn't have 10 bucks right now "Sorry" he said after offering it. The dump was 20.00 bucks. Me and Jim settled on 20 for the dump, 30 more for his truck and his pocket. Gentleman Jim is a real Gentleman he does a lot of things for people not thinking two ways about it, just to help. It's a rare thing to run into someone like that in your life. There are more scammers, and cons out there than real down to earth good people that don't expect much in return for their services. If there is someone in your life that expects more than the service they provide, or they throw the "You owe me" phrase around a lot. Get rid of them it's like having a piece of manure stuck to your shoe, scrape it off. Happy Monday!
