Pinnacles National Monument

Last week I was coming back from Sacramento and stopped at the Pinnacles National Monument for an enjoyable hike. I came in from the East side which is more out of the way for most travelers. I went through the caves on the East side and up to the High Peaks trail in a big loop.

Santa Barbara travelers may want to know about the Pinnacles because it is a delightful break halfway between the Bay Area and Santa Barbara. A range of easy to strenuous hikes can be done depending on time and energy. Access from Highway 101 at Soledad is quite easy.
