updated: May 10, 2012, 4:19 PM

Source: Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office

Santa Barbara Sheriff's detectives and the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Team (equivalent to SWAT) combined on an operation this morning to arrest a man in Orcutt.

At approximately 5:30am on Thursday, May 10, 2012, Sheriff's detectives served a warrant at a home in the 3500 block of Drake Drive for the arrest of Rory Drummond (DOB 5/27/74). Drummond was suspected of an assault during a domestic violence incident at the Drake Drive address on Friday, April 27, 2012. Drummond was also suspected of texting threats to the victim's phone. Based on statements that Drummond may have several weapons inside the residence, Sheriff's detectives initiated a high risk arrest operation using the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Team.

Drummond was arrested without incident. During the service of the warrant, Drummond was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, controlled substance paraphernalia, and two replicas of semi-automatic rifles and a replica shotgun. Detectives booked Drummond into the Santa Barbara County Jail on $50,000 bail for domestic violence (273.5 PC), felony criminal threats (422 PC), felony possession of a controlled substance (11377 H&S), felony possession of drug paraphernalia (11364 H&S), and removing a safety marking on a replica firearm (12553(a)(1) PC)

The Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office protects the identity of domestic violence victims. Therefore, no other information is being released.
