May 6, 2012 - And Away They Went

It's been quite a busy weekend so far! What with the Kentucky Derby, May Madness, Cinco de Mayo and the huge moon all on the same day. And this on top of Nicole's birthday on Friday. Whew - Sunday really should be a day of rest. But we don't rest much in our little blue town by the big blue sea, so let's get out there and enjoy the day. But first, there's some good Sunday reading on Edhat to catch up on.

The Dog of the Week is Mr. Bigs, a gentle and noble fellow; the Cat of the Week is Sparta! The Non-Profit of the Week is Backyard Beekeepers, a group dedicated to learning about honey bees, and a candidate for state senator shares some of his views.

NON-PROFIT OF THE WEEK: What started out as a little Google Group has turned into over 100 enthusiastic Backyard Beekeepers yearning to learn more about the Majestic World of the Honey Bee.

With there is a surplus of candy, you may find yourself NOT wanting to eat it all. This week Mike Shinn discusses alternate ways to make candy disappear.

CAT OF THE WEEK: Sparta is a cat who loves hangin' in napkin holders, laundry baskets or any other cozy spots.

DOG OF THE WEEK: The Dog of the Week is Mr. Bigs. He is a gentle, noble fellow who is greatly admired by his owners.
