Wildflowers Out?
updated: Apr 12, 2012, 7:33 PM

My friend heard that this was the last weekend to see wildflowers in the Santa Ynez Valley? I was under the impression that they were late this year. I don't want to go on a wild goose chase this Saturday. What's the truth? I figure my Edhat friends will know.

Flowers or not, I always enjoy a trip to the valley. Went through there recently to Lompoc, really green. Fun to go up for lunch any time of year.

Here's the corrected link: USFS link The only report is at the bottom, from the middle of March. Clicking on the Figueroa link you'll get the email address of the ranger, however, and a phone number.

I tried the link but it was broken. I called Helen and left a msg. requesting an update if possible. Her Los Padres Forest office # is 925-9538 though she is often out in the field. The FM lookout area (but not campground) is closed right now due to the storm, according to the Los Padres area Forest Service website. http://www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/lpnf/recreation
