Fences Make Good Neighbors

Looking for referrals to build a 6' redwood fence across a portion of our yard. It's aprox 170 linear feet and needs to have steel posts. Also wondering if anyone knows what the average cost per sq foot of a project like this would be. Thanks.

I just used Quality Fence 805-729-1910, 6ft high, 68ft long for $1570. I took four bids they all said the same thing, Dog ear redwood, metal posts and he had the best price and did an excellent job.

Funny this was posted, because I (Goleta Homeowner) just did a fence and gate and I was actually disappointed when it was over because I found myself enjoying the project. I used cedar and overlapped for privacy. I spent $200 for the 15 ft corner and did the work in three mornings (including demo) with a little help from the kids. I had some bids for this and other fence work and they tended to average about $40 per foot for common redwood. Since I had the time, and they wanted me to the demo before hand, just opted to do it myself. Quality Fence listed above sounds like a pretty good price, based on my experience. If you want a picture, I'd get a kick out of doing another fence. My wife complimented my work and that's saying something! :)
