Scanner Reports 04-06-12
updated: Apr 06, 2012, 7:05 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

"Got 20 bucks I can use?" I ain't even got 20 bucks I could use...A gal asked me for 20 bucks Thursday Afternoon. I gotta go to Coastal Advance so I can get a loan to buy another used washing machine that's how rich I yam. Right after someone tried to hit me up someone got robbed for 20 bucks by 7-11 331 West Montecito in broad daylight Thursday afternoon about 2:45.

SAD. It's all sad they get locked up they get let loose. I overheard a fella talking that he knows someone gets 300.00 a week panhandling near Trader Joes on South Milpas. 300.00 a week ain't bad. I have heard of people getting that much in a day. A lot of bleeding hearts in Santa Barbara. Avoiding State Street? Not going to the store that much? That's all right some panhandlers go door to door. I'm sure they will get to you sooner or later with their sob stories. Politicians blame each other but there is really nothing anyone can do because there are lawsuits against the city? Or so I've heard. So we're being held hostage basically. Politicians making promises they cannot keep. Jail is full in and out, out and in, one person says "You can't help them unless you've been there." I totally disagree with that. I think and it's only my opinion that you cannot help someone unless they want help.

Not that many want help unless it's in the form of money, or your life. What cracks me up about panhandlers, especially the ones who want the money for drugs or alcohol, many of them end up in a program and once they get there turn into total jerks. You run into them after supporting their habits buying them a beer here and there and only do they dis you they treat you like scrap! I know this from experience. Don't come to Roger Dodger's house expecting him to buy you a beer. Don't give me so sob stories about how there's no gas in your 30,000 dollar SUV. If someone really wants help they can get it on their own. I have my personal friends and neighbors we help each other out I would like to know how things would be different if someone else was the mayor and Silly Council these anonymous comments come up now and then blaming our mayor and members of the Silly council because they are liberals. Will here is your chance. How would it be different if our Mayor and Silly council were all conservatives? Would the Santa Barbara County Jail still be full what would the solution be for that? And what about these lawsuits I keep hearing about against our city and the police? What would a conservative city council and mayor do to protect citizens from these street terrorists?

I'll be surprised if anyone answers me because the comments have been few and far between the past couple weeks or so. I like Helene I think she's got balls she's not afraid to ax questions, or make decisions. Feel free to comment on whatever you like. I'd really like to know how things would be different. If you do comment please try to do so without playing the blame game, Thank You. The wind is a howling FRYdaze is the Full Moon LOOKOUT!
