I went for a little walk to the corner store Sunday Morning, when I got to the corner I pushed the button on the light pole so the light would change.
A car stopped, a bicyclist slowed down but kept going when he saw there was no traffic. What an IDIOT! I thought. He just ran the light like he didn't have a care in the world. Those jerks ruin it for everyone else. I continued on my way across the street into the store where I picked up dish soap and gum. I got my change and left still thinking about the IDIOT on the bicycle. Suddenly I heard someone yelling," You're going to get a ticket walking against the light like that." They were yelling at me. I was standing in the middle of Milpas street. I was so angry and obsessed with the bicyclist I jaywalked against the light at Cacique and Milpas, had a vehicle hit me I would have been splattered road kill all over the intersection in my Sunday clothes. I felt like a total IDIOT. Happy Monday - I hope you all had a great weekend.

I got a kick outta someone axing me what streets are worse State Street or Milpas Street? What are we writing an article? I thought about it for a while and I think San Pasqual is pretty bad too. Of course there are about a hundred otter streets that can get pretty bad from time to time. Someone requested that I write something about the worse streets or neighborHOODS, in Santa Barbara. I felt like I was having an NBD I had to stop. It was freaking me out. Anytime anywhere something could happen. I could not seem to honestly write an article about the worse area in town when the same crimes are going on all over town on a smaller scale. Not only that; offenders live all over town. Not just on the East Side or the West Side or in the shelter, or in the bushes. They live all over town and some of them live in Hope Ranch, Montecito, too confusing for me.
Over on Nopolitos, 3 ruffians all wearing checkered shorts were challenging a transient to a fight. Why - because he wasn't wearing checkered shorts?
At Santa Barbara three future felons were loitering with skate boards.
900 Block of Del Mar aggressive and jerk panhandlers attempting to start fights with people that won't give them money, and also following them. I wish I was 40 and had a car again with a Woodchipper on a trailer behind it.

5100 Block of Foxen Canyon Subject screaming for help thru phone then it disconnected. I heard no more about that call.

Subject ran out of Cottage ER trying to get home to an address on Castillo where they were either the Assaulted or the Assaulter.

Scanner Reports, Saturday:
Transient refusing to leave the Dorm at the Cacique Street Shelter, Saturday being the day that the Winter Shelter is now closed. Many people will no longer have a place to call home well at least not until next winter. Please try not to get too mad when you trip over someone sleeping in your yard. Or if you should catch someone doing pee pee or poo poo, they are really helping to fertilize your yard. Instead invite them into your home, feed them, and clothe them. Do your part by being a good Santa Barbarian. This has been a special Pubic service announcement by the NIMBY Association of Santa Barbara County.
100 Block of East Yananoli 459 Burglary to a business.
A fella breaking into his own apartment in the 1900 Block of DLV Cut the scrap outta his hand.

This cracked me up 4 Transients sitting in front of a business possibly involved in some type of drug activity, one of the transients has long hair and a beard.
Hazard investigation 3900 Block of Foothill possible transformer on fire.
Six transients loitering across from Fiesta Five Theatres.
400 Block of Anacapa 2 males involved in a 415 verbal.
Yesterday there was a 245 there someone was arrested.
Later on Saturday there was another 415 over money owed for marijuana. That is what the dispatcher said.
SBPD Ran a guy for Wants and Warrants - he's on parole for Rape and a registered sex offender.
I took a break and heard SBPD going code 3 on the East Side nearby but had no idea where they were going.

Two females beating up reporting party in the 1700 Block of Anacapa. I have no idea who the reporting party was but heard the bad girls were last seen running South on State Street from Valerio.
Report that someone was screaming for the police in the 200 Block of Miltada. I heard no more.
5150 Code 40 male or both removing on stage at Pershing Park. Officer said 5150, but took him to jail I think he was drunk.
Someone picked up a hitchhiker somewhere in Goleta, determined they were drunk and decided they wanted them outta their vehicle. But the drunk was refusing to leave the vehicle so the Sheriff was responding to Calle Real and I think Turnpike.
Report of Tree Fire in 500 Block of North La Cumbre Road it was one of those palms hit a wire there was no fire.
Report of 23103 Reckless driver possibly involved in a couple 20002s Hit and Runs, near the Amtrak station and the 100 Block of Oceano.

Animal Abuse in Waller Park, male in his 60's WMA 5'5 150 Pounds with a stick in his hand kicking his dog a yellow lab. This was around 4pm. I believe the police caught up to the maggot.

Assault 200 Block of Helena sounds like someone calling this mutual combat but I don't think it's the police calling it that. HELL who knows? Half the time no one remembers why they were fighting in the first place Drunk or Sober.
