Lillian, 93, passed away March 6, 2012 in her beloved Maravilla apartment following a short illness. She was born Jan. 18, 1919 in Indiana to Frank and Sadie Kraft. She arrived in Santa Barbara with her family in 1924, in time to experience the 1925 earthquake. She graduated from S.B. High, where her father taught, in 1937. In 1939 she married Vaughn Deranian.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn, in 1991; brother, Meriwether Kraft; sister Dorothy Martin; niece Deanna Hansen; and nephew David Westlake. She is survived by daughter, Carol Deranian; son Roger Deranian, sisters Peggy Westlake and Doris Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Lillian's 8 years at Maravilla were among the happiest of her life. She loved the friends she made there, and spoke often of all the wonderful young people of the Maravilla family.
