Scanner Reports 3-19-12

By Roger the Scanner Guy
Monday - After a cold and rainy, weekend I hope yours was good, mine OK. I did what I normally do on Saint Patrick's Day; bought a huge brisket put it in the crock pot. Followed all the directions and like usual it came out tough as shoe leather 12 or so hours later. Well there's always next beer - Corned Beef Brisket jerky. That sure was a good rain we had and you all know I love the wind. My foot is still injured; I should have went to the hospital I got at least one broken toe. They told me once they really could not do anything about broken toes so why go? I can't take pain killers anyway. The pain in this foot is relentless and I really cannot walk far at all. I hope someday it gets better I've had a couple broken bones in my time they always got better with time.
Un-Ballistic Belinda has been good lately like a 360 of her normally Ballistic self. It's really weird not to have a chair leg or two fly past my head as I'm over in her little Mouse House visiting.
Funny I didn't seem to hear as many Code 40, Code 2 Medic calls over the weekend not like I usually do, with the exception of St. Patrick's Evening. There was something else I heard last week that really bothered me. It was something I heard about an elderly woman she drove to a grocery store in the 200 Block of North Milpas to get groceries. There were panhandlers there who scared her so she got out her cell phone and called the store requesting the manager come out and escort her in. He did. It reminded me of the time I was walking back from the DMV like 9:30ish am or something I saw a high school girl probably about 16 crossing the street. When she got to the other side a group of transients approached her and totally surrounded her aggressively panhandling. I could not believe my eyes, not only asking a kid for money but intimidating her. I'm a mellow soul and I don't like fighting (Unless I'm drunk) but I went off on those idiots - a little kid for crying out loud! Now I'm hearing about the elderly being intimidated and it makes me angry. Then I look at NoozeHawk and read Ken Williams and read the horrible way that the homeless die and my heart bleeds.
What's funny is trying to explain this to my mother. Her thoughts concerning what I wrote on FRYday is that I was attacking the Homeless. It took me a long time to explain to her that like people that live in homes that break the law there are people living on the streets that break the law also, and they are criminals. But she kept saying "They are mentally ill!" She went on to say "Many are veterans!" Sounds like an employee of the homeless shelter. I guess some people don't understand but they would if they experienced being intimidated out of their money. If that happened to my mom, somebody would be hurtin'. Most of my family are republicans and they all got guns. I wasn't attacking the homeless. I know what the HELL I was doing. I know the difference between the homeless and criminals, and the mentally ill. I'm mentally ill - I don't think my bank would understand if I went over there on Tuesday morning and robbed my bank even though it's called Rabo Bank and I think there might be a voice in my head telling me to rob it every time I read the name of the bank on the outside wall as I enter my bank.
Maybe I ought to go back to school and become a Poverty Pimp that's where all the money is anyway, not in oil, or at Rabo Bank. I remember when I was a kid back in the 70's after my father died. My mom hooked up with this guy and she did not want to deal with my problems anymore. Back in the 70's it was "Look out for number one." A few other sayings were floating around there was a lot of divorce my mother was young she had been stuck with an abusive drunk for 20 years she wanted her own life. I got sent away first to military school where I would not conform then to other places. Mental hospitals, I became very angry mostly at my family. And even though at the time I wasn't mentally ill, I probably could have put my family thru a wood chipper, one by one for putting me there. There are horrible abuses in some of those places. One of the worse having been forced to drink liquid Thorazine mixed with grape Kool-Aid. That was long before Jamestown. There were many other kids my age in those places, many. And they were not mentally ill either. A couple were, but I think that most of those kids were children of divorce, or their homes were broken. Or maybe their parents were tired of being parents and they just did not want their kids around anymore. I think and of course it's only my opinion that many of those children are homeless adults today and now they are mentally ill. Those drugs that children were given way back when were drugs that did not work toward a cure for ones ills they were medications that shut people down. Thorazine, Mellaril, they have different names today but they still do the same damn thang turn people into Zombies.
I am as depressed today as I was as a kid. Not as angry as I was back then, just depressed. I have some anxiety I see people driving Hummers, Porsches, and BMW's, and that depresses me .I should have a home in Hope Ranch, Montecito, or Mission Canyon; I should drive a BMW or at least a new Chevy pickup. I never had the self-esteem required to be a success in life. I had just enough self-esteem to be a drunk. I think those drugs I was force fed played a part in making me dysfunctional. There are many, many people out there wandering the streets that went through the same things I did. Their parents did not want them around so they put them in institutions, or boarding schools basically abandoned their children and now their children are adult zombies. These people sometimes cause problems as far as getting drunk doing off the wall things that don't make sense to regular folk that haven't experienced such horror in their lives, so regular folk don't understand.
Many of the terrorists on the streets raising HELL and causing problems in Santa Barbara have been kicked out of the shelters, they won't put up with them but they expect us to. I know the difference between someone who is mentally ill and someone who is normal or at least functional there really are not many normal people in this world. I respect veterans and would give one the shirt off my back as they fought and died for my freedom and I got a special place in my heart for Vietnam Vets. But I have no place for terrorist criminals that wreak havoc taking advantage of others beating, and bullying, robbing, and intimidating people out of their hard earned income. It happens a lot more to other homeless people out there on the streets that have no shelter and cannot defend themselves. They also get terrorized by homeless criminals...This situation is a big ball of Scrap and I'll be surprised if anything came be done about it. It ain't right. No one deserves anyone else's anger. So there! And if you don't want to read it, don't. Simple as that.
