Scanner Reports 3-12-12
updated: Mar 12, 2012, 7:15 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Monday-Monday, Anutter Monday. I hope you all had a great Weekend. As for me it was good. I have new carpet but threw out my back, there is always a trade.

I can't go through my stuff for a couple days as I can hardly move but at least my feet feel better. Someone mentioned in the comments section about having their home busted into and losing a lot of money. They also said their neighbor's home got hit and the neighbor's dog was killed by the scum bags that hit the home. That bought back some horrible memories for me. When I was a kid around 12 one of our neighbors' homes was hit, and their dog murdered by the thieves.

It was mutilated with a butcher knife, I saw it. I also saw the killers earlier in the evening haul a TV set and several other items from the home. I made note of the vehicle make, out of state license plate, and plate number. I gave all that information to the police when I saw them at the home later on that evening. About an hour or so after I reported everything I heard the maggots were captured a few miles down the road in Calumet City, Ill. The person that wrote about the dog in the comment section mentioned that the victims were too traumatized to report the theft and death of their dog right now. It seems like Justice is on vacation in this old world nowadays. The maggots have more rights than we do. The nicer you are the more someone comes along to screw you over. I'd be willing to bet there are a few cops that care about dogs in Santa Barbara, enough that they might put in extra time to try and solve that case.

In this war all of us need all the backup we can get - police and Law abiding citizens alike. Our city has become an easy hit and all of us are under siege by criminals. A lot of people have been calling the police on things they see as suspicious and that is wonderful but it seems more has to be done to maintain our serenity and peace of mind. I keep my eyes and ears open in my neighborhood when I see something that isn't right I call it in. I don't like calling 911, because I used to call them every time I stubbed my toe and I don't think they like me very much. I'm sure they feel an impending doom every time they see my name on their screams. Some of them probably go to therapy because of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder I have given them. Of course if you see something you think is wrong you have to call, especially if it concerns another person. At least that is what normal people do, I'm practicing.

The other night I called in the poor gal's screaming her head off across the street I was having a horrible anxiety attack. I felt like I was having a heart attack, a brain hemorrhage, and a nervous breakdown at the same time. I felt like screaming but I knew the dispatcher wouldn't understand and Roger would be off to PUFF. I really don't like calling 911 but if I have to, I will. To protect another's property, or their life. This is our community, our home, our lives...We should watch out for each other. Even if we "`HATE EACH OTHERS FRIGGEN GUTS" it's all about community. This has been a public service announcement from Roger's Brain.
