Scanner Reports 3-9-12
updated: Mar 09, 2012, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Finally FRYday, and SNOT a moment too soon. Yesterday I got new carpeting and moving around all my scrap was pure HELL. Not to mention Poop Head howling at me after I finished for the evening. You guys should have seen the look on Ballistic Belinda's face after I let out a howl of my own - she thought I ate the cat. He finally settled down. I remember the Good Old Days when I used to work 10 hour shifts at one company. Later on in the evening do a shift somewhere else. My feet never hurt as bad as they do right now after only a few hours of running around. Ballistic Belinda hasn't been so Ballistic lately as she stopped drinking the stuff that made her thata way. I hope she continues; it's been heaven. She's almost normal and that gives me license to be insane.

There have been a lot of overdoses lately not a HELL of a lot but more than normal, what is normal? Not me, that's for damn sure! A lot of the overdoses have been medication some accidental but there has been heroin overdoses too. Not just in Ventura and Santa Maria but here also. Several in a few day span. I really don't know what that means? Maybe it's too pure, or just a bad batch. I have never done heroin myself but I have friends that have and they don't ever want to again. There have also been a lot of burglaries mostly to vehicles. Opportunity crimes; speaking of which, last weekend there might have been a couple rapes out there, so be careful. Don't go drinking alone, take a friend, and take a cab home. Sometimes I'm scared that I'm not so young again, but I really would not want to go through it again. I think some of you know what I mean.

Oh Well anyway, Hair is thy blessed Scanner Reports, Wednesday:

  • 459 Burglary to an abandoned home at 1234 Mira Flores. A lot of squatters out there you guys would be surprised. If you have an extra structure on your property it's good to check on it a couple times a week. You don't want someone sleeping in yer home for free.
  • 1200 Punta Gorda there was a guy associated with a Toyota, trying door handles on other peoples vehicles in that block.
  • 300 of West Figueroa a code 60, a code 60 is a vehicle blocking - your driveway for instance. If someone blocks you in call the police. So they can give the person a ticket and tow their car away. Santa Barbara needs all the money it can get.
  • 23152 Drunk Driver South on State Street heading into oncoming traffic. The reporting party is following, the drunk driver pulls into the parking lot of the Kidney Center. The reporting party informs the dispatcher of this. The police arrive and that was all I heard.
  • Hey does anyone out there know if I could feed my cat Cheetos? I've always wondered.
  • There was a report of a 242 Assault in the 400 Block of West Islay.
  • Anutter 242 Assault report taken near the Harbor.
  • 8 South Milpas code 40 Drunk subject.
  • Hazard investigation vehicle into a building Chapala at Ortega.
  • There was a medical emergency called in at the 1000 Block of Chapala. A couple moments later, another medical emergency across the street.
  • A medical emergency at SBHS for an unconscious female.
  • A suicidal man in Buena Vista Care Center.
  • Someone ripped off the tip jar at Java Station in the 4700 Block of Hollister.
  • There was some type of 415 at the Cacique Street Shelter, a supervisor was also requested.
  • 415, 5150 Breaking glass in a motel room in the 2800 Block of State and if it wasn't there it was somewhere else. Sometimes listening to a scanner can be confusing.
  • 500 Block of Stanley Drive vehicle fire.
  • Report of 4 subjects fighting on the patio of Dons in the 3100 Block of State Street.
  • Medical emergency at Pershing Park unknown type.
  • Overdose in the 3900 Block of Via Lucero.
  • A police officer is requesting "Cares" for a woman that has just been released from Cottage.
  • In the 1800 Block of Bath Street a husband is yelling, and throwing things. I used to live in the 1800 Block of Bath 20 years ago. A woman named Lena owned that home. The one the Husband is raising HELL in if her spirit is still floating around she might raise a little HELL of her own if he don't stop.

    Scanner Reports, Thursday:

  • Early Thursday around 2am there were two separate incidents of 415's involving Cab Drivers and people who were refusing to pay.
  • Not only that but in both incidents one in the County, the other here in Santa Barbara, the Cab Drivers were assaulted. Very Weird one would think it was a Full Moon. Big Surprise!
  • 6700 Block of Del Playa drunk ex-boyFIEND kicks in ex- girlfriend's door and says...."Baby I swear I will never drink again, I'm joining AA Tomorrow." Yep, word for word, that's what he said. I know because I have said it a few times myself.
  • Medical Emergency for a 41 year old male having alcohol withdrawals at Bath and Haley. It only gets worse Don't drink no more you'll have a good life one day at a time.
  • 100 Block of Twitchell 415 Domestic verbal.
  • Overdose on Cedar Lane Xanax and alcohol.
  • 488 Purse theft reported over the phone in the county.
  • There was a push shove 415 Domestic in the 4200 Block of Calle Real the ex-husband reporting the 415 said the wife drove off with a code 40 male and their children in a silver Chrysler.
  • In the Carrillo Underpants a man is slumped over the wheel of his vehicle waiting for the light to change. Police respond and wake the man up and run his name. He has a $5,000 traffic warrant out of Ventura. He is driving without a license, he was on probation and yes he went to jail.
  • Right after the "Sleepers" name was ran two vehicles crashed into each otter nearby so now there was also an accident in the Carrillo Underpants I did not hear anything about skid marks though.
  • There was some type of 415 at the PUFF UNIT - some guy was knocking at the back door and wanted to be left in. I guess it's against the law to knock on the back door.
  • There was something going on at Mission Ridge Road area maybe shots, or fireworks I did not hear which but it sounded like that kind of call. There were two reporting parties if there is more than one reporting party they take the call more serious.

That is pretty much it for now. Have a Great Weekend Everybody, and Dog Willing me and Poopy Head will see you on Monday. Roger
