Scanner Reports 2-27-12
updated: Feb 27, 2012, 7:00 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Well Shucks.... Someone I never met but hoped to someday passed on the otter day and I just heard about it. His name was Steve "The Preacher" Glover, and he had a heart attack. He was 54. He was a DJ on a local AM Station back in Hammond, where I am from. He was someone I looked up to, as he went after the bad guys. It tain't much, but I'd like to dedicate the Scanner Reports to "The Preacher" today.

Well hair we are, anutter Monday. Something I want to add about the Homeless issue we have here in Santa Barbara. I've been through a lot of scrap in my life and but For the Grace of Dog go I....It ain't my right to judge but I'm not going to let anyone take advantage of me either. I used to do that all the time put otters ahead of myself. Most people take advantage of you, if you let them. I'm right in the middle I'm all for helping someone if they need help but as far as letting someone push me around because Mommy did SNOT change their poopy diaper as much as she should have, or they were abused...BULL MANURE! No one deserves my anger just because I had a poopy life. If I can't be a pain in the Hiney, neither can they! I think there should be a government grant available to the people of Santa Barbara for having to deal with all this DRAMA! After all we are paying for it in one TAX or a nutter. The whole damn production is paid for by TAXPAYERS. The politicians, the Police, the Homeless, all of the actors in this real life play are paid for by the Taxpayers. Where the HELL is their GRANT? Maybe everyone should receive a trip for two to the destination of their choice for a couple weeks, or maybe a new car. Maybe some COLD HARD CASH...I'm just sayin', ya know?

Once in a while if I'm ahead a couple bucks and someone's hurting I help them out. It's my way but when someone comes up to me and says "Give me some money," or if they ask for spare change in an aggressive manner, I tell ‘em where to get off. It ain't right people intimidating others out of their money. At the same time I don't think it's right to let people that cannot care for themselves starve or to treat them bad because they are homeless. Right in the middle - my only excuse is that I'm a Gemini. I'm a bleeding fart liberal and a Right weiner at the same time and that my friends are why I'm on MEDICATION.

I want to thank all of our emergency responders for saving our arses on Saturday Night from a near disaster. It's really quite AMAZING really, for a fire to start in dry brush like it did with strong winds and for Fire to respond as quick as they did and put it out. I've said it before, I'll say it again, we are lucky we have the Emergency Responders that we do. Without them Santa Barbara would be burning right now.

Dog Willing, Me and Pooh Bear will see ya all on Wednesday. Roger
