Infant Care
updated: Feb 23, 2012, 4:17 PM
Looking for a referral - with price range - for infant care. I am starting my
search early, as we will not need daycare until next fall. Any suggestions would
be greatly appreciated!

Alma Cabrera and her family (Kids Korner Family Day Care Center) took care of both my children from infancy until they were ready for school. She was wonderful ! I cannot give you any information about pricing but you can call her at 968-1374. As a footnote, she is a member of the Santa Barbara Family Child Care Association. Good luck !

There is a lot of good information at the Children's Resource & Referral web site, http://sbfcc.org/index.php/site/parents/. Good luck!

Depending on your situation, you will need in home help for the first 3 months which runs about $50-150/day, then probably small daycare / house drop off care for 2years at avg $1k/mth, then group daycare until 5 yr at any number of fine schools around, usually runs about $650-1550/mth I can't give you names but there have been many referrals threads on this here on edhat. Just giving general pricing based on experience. Good luck!

We would second the Early Childhood Center @ 1st Pres. downtown. We have had our two children there and have loved it. Very warm and caring atmosphere and incredibly gentle, loving teachers. Wonderful facilities, too. (3 mos until K)

Childrens Resource and Referral Service would be advisable, as some care advertised in the media could be questionable.
