It's finally FRYday...Just another day to me, as most days are just another day. As some of you know, my Doctor who was referred to as the "Candy Man" was arrested on January the 4th. I started seeing Julio Diaz as my doctor a few years back for Asthma and Acid Reflux; I was referred to him by a friend with the same illness. He helped my friend so I thought naturally he would help me too. Being sort of an old school guy I am more comfortable with a male doctor so I switched my primary care to the Family Health Care Clinic 510 North Milpas. The clinic is also closer to my home, within walking distance. Dr. Diaz pretty much covered all of my medical issues, unless of course I had to see a specialist. Besides the asthma and acid reflux I am borderline diabetic, Have high Blood Pressure, crippling arthritis, anxiety and depression. For the arthritis, as some of you might guess, I was prescribed pain killers. For a time I took them, but not the way they were prescribed. I have only needed to take more medication when the pain was too intense, to function a couple of times.
One time after a local dentist did a root canal on me without any pain killer at all because my heart would speed up. I still want to hurt that dentist. Anyway several years ago Dr. Diaz prescribed Medical Marijuana to me. I didn't have to take the painkillers as much after getting the MM. A muscle relaxer once in a while but that was pretty much it. About a year or so ago I went in to see the doctor and requested pain killers I was told I had to pee in a cup to prove I was taking the medication and not selling it as others had. That really angered me as I have never been arrested for drug charges or have been a drug addict. I wanted to quit seeing him as my doctor at that point because I thought something weird might be going on. Another thing I noticed that was weird was there were always pharmaceutical sales people in there. And they always went before the patients. You'd have an appointment at 10:30 and unless you said something you might still be waiting to see the doctor a couple hours later.
It was a real bummer. But I did not have to pay cash out of my pocket for my medical marijuana prescription. He never requested money from me. He was very attentive to my medical needs; even though I hear a lot of this Candy Man stuff now. I never heard it before. As far as people taking overdoses and blaming Dr. Diaz for their deaths, though he prescribed a lot of pills to people they made the choice to take them. I think there's a lot of Bull Manure in the case against him. Personally I think there is a lot more to this case. You could try to convince me otherwise but I'm pretty much resolved that there is a lot more going on here. But that's my opinion.
