Winchester Drive Police Presence

Anyone (Roger, I suppose this mostly means you) know what the cops (not sure if
it was Goleta City or SBSO) were doing at 3am on Winchester Drive last night?

Dear neighbor, Please join Nextdoor for Winchester Canyon. The info was posted there. Paraphrasing: Unknown suspect in neighbor's vehicle. Sheriff called and responded, but only after suspect jumped in waiting white vehicle and drove away. Partial license number captured. Nothing taken.
If you don't yet know about Nextdoor, please contact our neighbor Ingrid (the friendly blond realtor) for an invite, or ask one of your neighbors (me included. I just don't want to post anyone's email address here.) We're trying to get everyone on board.

'twas Goleta Police/Sheriff...one in the same. The city contracts the Sheriff's Dept. for law enforcement. Nextdoor sounds great.

Easy to spot the difference. For future reference even when they are policing on a municipal contract the SBSO officers wear their khaki/green uniforms. The City Police have always worn their very dark blue uniforms (almost look black at times)

Nextdoor sounds like it could be great. I hope my email address doesn't show up though since one of the neighbors, who is a realtor, has obtained and used other information about us for her marketing.

Nextdoor is a really cool free online network for neighborhoods. Goleta has set this up for all neighborhoods in Goleta. Go to nextdoor (dot com) to join or call the City and they can help you out. They set one up in our neighborhood and now all of the neighbors are talking online.
