That's an easy question: Jason @ Seaside. His number is (805) 729-4104. He's reasonable, very nice and does super nice work.

Kadlec Sheet Metal Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning, 963-4900. They fixed the mess another heating company made, were polite and very reasonably priced.

Not to be "snarky" or anything, this is a serious question.

If you found a furnace repair person who had a business that wasn't close to the Mesa but would do the job cheaper and better than someone close to the Mesa would you hire them?

@184: OP here. I said I *preferred* someone close to the Mesa, not that I would ONLY go to someone near the Mesa. Why do you ask? Are you offering your services?

184 Here.
Actually you didn't say you'd "prefer" someone close to the Mesa. You said, it would be "best" if it was someone close to the Mesa and I was just curious as to why, that's all... and no, I don't work on HVAC systems.

I have a 1928 gravity furnace in excellent condition that stopped working last year. I called six or eight local companies that allegedly did furnace repair, some from as far away as Ventura. Every single one of them wanted to sell me a more modern unit, to the tune of various thousands of $$$, which I could in no way afford. A few of the people with whom I spoke even refused to come and look at the problem, since the furnace was so old.

On a friend's recommendation I called Ruben Corral, (560-3641) who does heating work, among other things. He was at my house that afternoon, discovered that the problem was a loose fitting, fixed it within 10 minutes and charged me way less than $100 for the entire service call. The furnace has been working fine ever since.

He lives in Carp but services the whole South County area.

I just used Anchor Air and thought they were great. They worked around my schedule and were friendly. I also got the best price from them. Very happy

I have some rentals, and Jason from Seaside Heat & Air is the nicest, most reliable, and absolutely the best in town - time and time again. I called him on a Sat. one time (because a single mom's heat was out), he was in Santa Ynez with his sone camping - and he got me someone else to come over. Also reasonable. (805) 729-4104

Another voice for John McCormack of McCormack Heating and Air, who also bought out Rick's Heating and Air/The Wright (sp?) Touch. He's never talked me into any more costly option, has shown me how to do things myself, referred out when appropriate, and always makes time for my "emergencies."
