Waiting for the Surf
updated: Jan 07, 2012, 10:00 AM

So here's the deal, about a zillion of us have been keeping a close eye on the surf report the last few days in great anticipation for the big waves to roll in. I pedaled down to Rincon crack-o-dawn yesterday morning. In quirky Edhat fashion, I counted 134 people in the water at precisely 10:30 a.m.
Lots of big lenses on the beach; I even think I saw an IMAX-like movie camera getting lugged across the rocks. One guy looks like he was taking a self-portrait with his 500mm lens.
Clearly, it was a big day at Rincon but as is sometimes the case, the people-watching between sets can be pretty fun.
