Evi and Randy Quaid Bond Money
updated: Jan 06, 2012, 4:12 PM

Source: Joyce Dudley's Office

Today, Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley announced that Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Frank Ochoa issued his ruling forfeituring the two $500,000 bail bonds for Randy and Evi Quaid. The Quaids failed to appear in court in November of 2010. The bail bond company was granted the maximum time allowed by law to return the Quaids to Santa Barbara to answer to the criminal charges pending against them. When the bond company was unable to produce the Quaids within one year, the bail bonds were forfeited. The court ruling denied the bond company's motion to exonerate the bonds.

The $1,000,000 in bond money will be forfeited to the County of Santa Barbara general fund. Arrest warrants remain outstanding for the Quaids. Should the Quaids return to the United States they will be arrested and extradition proceedings will be initiated to bring them to Santa Barbara.
