I love my dentist. His hygienist is wonderful. Dr. Meldje 6875669 He has done work for me for years, and for my husband, too. He has also done work for friends. I highly recommend him.

Actually, it costs beaucoup bucks to have pets' teeth cleaned. If it's done under anesthesia by the vet, it can cost upwards of $500.

@ 379, And if done without anesthesia it is pointless as they cannot scrape below the gum line. @OP, A thorough cleaning takes at least an hour, and costs about $100. 20 minute cleanings are a joke, but we get what we pay for. Toothpicks after meals are a fabulous way to have a healthy mouth.

Jail, oh I forgot they just pull teeth. Seriously though, if you have insurance it shouldn't be much, a co-pay. If no insurance contact Westside clinic, I think they have a dentist who works on a sliding scale.

It shouldn't cost too much to get one "tooth" cleaned.

A better source of info would be to contact county health, or one of the service agencies, and ask about low cost dental care. I know that at least once a year there is a clinic at Earl Warren, but maybe there are other services provided at low cost.

Does anyone out there have experience with dog medical insurance? My puppy has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia, which won't be covered, but since that is going to cost $$$$$, I'm thinking I should get insurance for anything else that goes wrong. Any recommendations or comments?

I love how half the commenters read the title as "animal" dental care.

Tijuana! Thousands of Americans and Canadians travel to Mexico and other countries for dental work and other medical procedures. I lived in nine countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa for nearly thirty years and had fine dental and medical care everywhere, at a fraction of what it costs here in the U.S.

Despite the misreading, back at 436: many insurance brokers can get pet insurance. But shop around, prices vary a lot and be sure to understand all about deductibles and co-pays, just as you would for human insurance. My only personal experience is with Pacific Group Agencies in Santa Clarita, 800-817-8838.
