updated: Dec 02, 2011, 12:37 PM
Can anyone recommend somewhere local to buy a bow tie in Santa Barbara? A second hand store maybe? Thanks!

Mens Wearhouse has them, too. You might have luck at a second hand store, but I'm guessing they are cheap enough that you'd be better off just getting one new from a store that sells them new.

Mario's Magic Shop has a great selection of Boomerang Bowtie's, as well as New improved squirting flowers, Fake blood...or is it? Trick gum, and Headlight glasses.

The Ladies Auxiliary thrift store on Veronica has had them off and on. Our son loves them. The tie kind. They have a large variety of things there, and are nice and clean. Take Los Positas to Veronica Springs, turn right, and it is in the back. They are open Monday and Wednesday, ten to three, and Saturday from ten to one.

Macys or Nordstrom. Anywhere else is pretty expensive for a real one (read: silk and non-clip, non-velcro.)

Trader Joes has some really cool pasta bow-ties. Very thrifty, as after you have worn it you can eat it!

There is a consignment shop on Haley somewhere btw SB and Olive Street that might have them. Think there are a few other vintage / thrift stores along that street too. Or try Renaissance Consignment at 1118 State St.
