Well it's Wednesday, middle of the week for all those banker hours
people. Do you ever count your change when you leave a store? Or a gas station? What about a liquor store? One should
count their change, and always get a receipt. One should always check make sure you're not being over charged. It is a
very common thing being over charged. Why, some of those clerks that are greeting you with a smile and kind words are
actually ripping you off. You should always count your change.
I used to have a roommate years ago that made 5 bucks an hour working for a local Santa Barbara
liquor store. He doubled his 5.00 dollars per hour by ripping off another 5.00 Dollars per hour from the customers. When
I told him I did not agree with what he was doing he moved out, owing me some rent.
I have a friend visits a liquor store on a regular basis and always gets taken on the
cigarettes, the discount cigarettes on sale for 3.99 a pack she always gets the regular price even though it says 3.99
right on the pack. She always goes back the next day and gets a refund from the owner. I bet there are many that don't
even get a receipt or count their change. Do a little experiment; check it out see if you're getting ripped off.
I got nailed this morning - Panhandler standing right in the middle of the entrance of the mall
where Jacks Bagel is 53 South Milpas. I left Rite Aid with my bag of "Old Mans, canned soup" 2 Campbells for 3 Bones. I
had 6 cans, saw the panhandler walked the otter way he followed me. What an idiot. Doesn't he know I'm a homicidal
manic? At least I look like one. He's lucky I'm lazy..Anyway he stops me and says the usual "Got any Spare Change?" Nope
sorry, I said it's the middle of the month I'm broke. "I just want something to eat." he said. I didn't say anything
about the shelter being up the street I'm sure he knew where the shelter was. I did say "I want something to eat also
that is why I don't have any spare change." He walked away.
Shakey came over and helped me scrub my walls. He will be back tomorrow. We went over to
Panaderia Veronica for a pastry (my diet went all to HELL when that place moved in). When we were coming back, a hooker
that was at the bus stop across the street came after us. Aggressive Panhandling is one thing butt...We totally ignored
her and kept walking while she talked loud following us up the driveway to Rogers House. She finally walked away. THANK
DOG!
I saw a good friend of mine the otter day, Lou. We used to work together for Romer Security a
hundred years ago. There is not many of us Romers left. Lou is homeless now, although he doesn't like for others to
know. He works when he can, if someone will hire him and he cleans up in gas stations. This time he told me his health
isn't so good (High Blood Pressure). Me too I said. But he's not on meds. "I have to apply for disability, he say, I
don't like that." We spoke for a few moments and then he went on his way. I felt sad as if I would not see him again. I
hope I'm wrong. I should have told him to show up around Christmas. I'll get him something anyway and just hold onto it
until I see him.
