Chris Edgecomb's Death
updated: Nov 10, 2011, 3:29 PM

By Edhat Subscriber

I saw a headline in the News Press (online edition) reporting the death of Chris Edgecomb. I'm not a News Press subscriber, so I couldn't read the article. Does anyone in the Edhat community have details about Mr. Edgecomb's apparent, recent death?

Yes Ed-Hat group. It was delivered (with your permission) to your front door or driveway at 5:45 AM, but taking the local paper is so against peer pressure around here. I love the morning paper!

Can't we pay respects for someone without arguring? Rest in Peace..

Last time I put money in the slot for a News Press, there were no papers left & I couldn't get my money back. You can read the obits at their site for free. I don't think Wendy needs my pennies.

If there is no paper in the door of the machine, I don't put money in...the newspaper is pretty cheap. If you want to hurt Wendy, keep buying the paper since it must be running in the red.

Mr Edgecomb was only 52, hopefully we will learn more about what caused his heart attack to save others from such an untimely demise.

I am sorry to read about Mr. Edgecomb's passing, and sorry to read this comment thread, which I find totally disrespectful. My condolences to his family and friends.

He was very wealthy. Does anyone know what his business was?

We went to his 6 million dollar wedding and it was the most fun, spectacular event I will probably ever go to in my life ! I believe he made a lot of his money in the dot com stocks era & most important he knew when to get out before all the stocks tanked. He was also involved in the music business at one time. Yes, 52 seems too young to die. As the wonderful Green Day song says, "I hope you had the time of your life".

Yikes. Condolences to the family. (Isn't his sister a public figure?)

Folks,
The article is about the death of a human being. There is no reason to throw dirt on the Santa Barbara News Press for reporting Chris's passing. Please be civil. Thank you.

Chris Edgecomb. I went to highschool with Chris at Monte Vista Highschool in Danville, CA. Chris was really a sweet guy and was innovative with small businesses even back then. You'll find it no surprise that he was voted as "most likely to suceed" in highschool. Chris was funny, had a great sense of humor, was very creative, and always had a postive attitude about everything, and was very generous. He was articulate and was a good listener, and no matter how much thing crashed and burned, there was always the next "Add venture" to look forward to. Here's to your next adventure Chris! We love you and are glad we got to share some wonderful moments in life with you. Ah. If only some of us lived so well. Love your pal from highschool, Kim from (now living in Alexandria, VA)
