Medical Clinic
updated: Nov 09, 2011, 3:19 PM
I am looking for a medical clinic in town for someone who doesn't have health insurance. What clinics are there? Free clinics? Anyone have any good/bad experience with any one(s) in particular? I would appreciate any info or insight that you have.

Dr. Beverly Brott, (Board Certified Internist) on Chapala sees patients w/o insurance and I've found her rates to be extremely reasonable. She is also very knowledgeable about obtaining other services in town (lab, meds, radiology) at the lowest possible cost. Not free, but definitely affordable.

All of these places will charge based on income, number in family. Needs to go to the public health department to sign up for Medical and see if they qualify for MIA status=medically indigent status.

The dental clinic on Milpas is wonderful. They are part of the SB Neighborhood Clinics. Caring staff, nice atmosphere. You pay what you can afford.

Contact a private own practice doctor/dentist/chiropractor/podiatrist/opthamologist I would guess that you'd have a better chance of making financial arrangements than dealing with an institution.
