Reliable Taxi Service

Some friends of mine and I want to take a taxi out to the start of the
Santa Barbara half marathon on Saturday - instead of driving out to
UCSB. That way when the race is over we can just walk home.
What is the most reliable taxi service in town - that will pick us up
at around 5:30 a.m.?

I use Rose Cab with some regularity. They are always on time and the drivers are nice.

I often use Rose to go from Carp to SBA at 4am so I am sure they would be fine. You can give them a call a day or 2 ahead to make an appointment.

I called Yellow Cab to take us to the airport recently. They sent some other service (maybe Blue Dolphin?) instead, and the driver was uncommunicative and a little creepy. I guess the Yellow Cab number actually sends you to a shared dispatcher or something? Anyway, I'd try a different service in the future. Looks like Rose and Rockstar are getting good recommendations here.

All cab companies are reliable, especially if it is not a Friday or Saturday night. Just call the day before and make a reservation and you should have no problem. I use Rose because I have a good repore with one of the drivers, but all have been good. Rockstar is more for heading downtown, they have music, sometimes a limo, and a party atmosphere, probably not what your looking for in the morning before a Marathon. Good luck.

Call Hakim at Fly by Night Taxi. Funny name, but I use him frequently for early morning flights to the airport and he has always been on time and remembers to pick me up at the airport two weeks later.

I used Lucky's quite recently when I had to catch a 3:30 a.m. Airbus to LAX to connect with a flight to New York en-route to Madrid.
They turned up right on time!

Gold Cab - 685-9797 - you tell them when you want them there and they show up - rates are reasonable. Enjoy the marathon.
