DJ Referral
updated: Nov 04, 2011, 3:22 PM

I am planning a local wedding for this August, and I'm looking for DJ referrals. Can anyone recommend a DJ that they have heard or worked with?

Depending on what kind of "style" you are looking for - try Amazing Sounds - they are good and we have used them for a few receptions. Here's the link to their FB page

I used SB DJs, specifically DJ Zeke and he was fantastic. He really listened to what we wanted while also keeping the dance floor full the entire reception. I also really liked SB DJs website - it was easy to use and allowed you to select songs electronically that you wanted to have played or that you didn't want to play as you combed through their large supply of music.

Justin Stern with JAS Productions. We hired him for our wedding in September and it was amazing! He prodided ceremony equipment, uplighting and held it down for the reception. He'll work with you and play what you want! He has his music library online (plus some). check him out!

Sorry but SB DJ's way overpriced (Sorry Gavin! You're great but wedding budgets!)... If you can get one of the guys hired on their own - you'll be saving atleast $500... Do your homework... But agree with 010 - Zeke is good too... but we know him, so we have to say that!

Jason (aka DJ KOHJAY), one of the DJs at EOS Lounge, is both an awesome DJ and for hire. And the cool thing is you can watch him in action for free at EOS to check out his style.

Call him at 805-886-5645. Tell him his neighbor Chris recommended him. Maybe he will buy me a beer.

Music by Bonnie! Music by Bonnie is super awesome.

The best part is that Music by Bonnie will work really closely with the other wedding vendors. They fixed the caterer's mistake day-of and solved a potential disaster when we were just a few weeks before the wedding. Our DJ was great at coordinating all of the fun wedding events.

... our DJ even bustled my dress when my bridesmaids couldn't figure it out! They do SO much more than just play music.

Ron Herron--'The Baron' who has been on local radio as an MC for years. He did my niece's wedding and was great.

My brother's wedding was the best one I've ever been to. He got up on the stage during the ceremony and played his guitar and sang "froggy-went-a-courtin'" as his bride walked down the aisle. She walked up onto the stage, and a bandmate performed the marriage ceremony. Afterward we were all invited to a hilltop (this was at Gainey Winery) where there was a 4-piece jazz ensemble made up of friends of my brothers who were all wedding guests. During the dance party after the dinner, a live band played the couple's song selections as well as some originals including one my brother had written especially for the occasion. This was a real class act.

DJ music is a joke. Why not use a live band. Sad that you think that music is something that comes from some DJ. Pathetic. Hope you are enjoying your Lady GaGa - I guess this is all you are capable of appreciating. Sad

Scott Topper is the man ... the name says it all! Fun and dynamic, an infectious personality which will bring even the most fragile of "crumblies" to their feet. And none of the "naffness" some should-have-left-the-biz-back-in-the-80s DJs can bring to an otherwise enjoyable event. Add to that, his wife Angie who is a wedding photographer, and they take the cake ...

AMS Entertainment is the best. 899-4000. Was at a wedding Saturday. It was soooooo fun!!! They were so good. The focus was NOT on the DJ but the bride. Didn't know many people so I figured I wouldn't dance. But it was so fun, the best music, I ended up dancing all night!!
