Baby Back Ribs Referral

Yesterday we savored the meaty, lean baby back ribs at the Swiss restaurant in Santa Maria. Where can one enjoy knaw on dem fine bones, other than at Woody's and once a week at Fresco? The Swiss has the best baby back ribs in Santa Barbara Country thus far. Their side dishes (and prices) are very good also.

Unfortunately there are no good BBQ ribs in Santa Barbara. You are better off buying a smoker (the basic ones are actually pretty darn inexpensive) and cooking them in your own backyard. I guarantee they will be far far better than anything you can find at any of the places in SB.

I like baby back ribs at Holdren's on State. They have all you can eat on Mondays for 19.99 and a half rack is usually $19.99 on other days. I've never been able to eat more than a half a rack (their serving size is large) of Holdren's ribs and I can eat! The servers tell me the record is someone once ate six half racks.

I was just at the Nugget in Summerland and my husband, who loves his ribs, ordered a full rack of ribs there. He LOVED them and was full and couldn't finish. Now he can eat, let me tell you!! So I would say, try the Nugget in Summerland, they have great ribs there.

I had the baby back ribs at Killer B's on State St. awhile back, and they were surprisingly meaty, tender and delicious. I'm an old Woody's fan, but haven't been out there in quite sometime. I think the ribs may even be on the happy hour menu at Killer B's, but not 100% sure about that.

There was a time when Woody's (gag) was our only local choice. Now we have Killer B's BBQ on State St, right across from the Paseo Nuevo Macy's. We have eaten there many times and their ribs are great. Meaty baby backs, four kinds of BBQ sauce to choose from, and lots of interesting sides. They take the Axxess Card as well (BOGO free then 15% off thereafter). I highly recommend them. Lemon Jelly did a review of Killer B's earlier this year on Edhat.

Just ate pork ribs from the refrigerated section of Trader Joe's last night, slow cooked in the oven for 2 hours with an amazing BBQ sauce - $12 dollars, feeds two, YUM!

Santa Claus Lane BBQ place has absolutely the best baby back ribs in the area - not even a close contest. They're big, meaty, tender and delicious. Hands down winner.

I'll have to agree, the Santa Claus Lane BBQ ribs are the best. Also on Sundays, Dargan's has a very good rib special as well. ... Please don't go to Woody's, you will only be disappointed.

The BBQ on Santa Claus Lane does have good ribs and a wide variety of sides and BBQ sauces. BTW it is called The Barbecue Company. Tough to keep track because it has changed hands a few times over the past several years. However, I can attest that Killer B's ribs are every bit as good as the Barbecue Company. And you don't have to drive that far. Unless you already live in Carp, that is.
