This week's outstanding non-profit is Women to Women International and more specifically, the Ghana High School Project. This 100% volunteer project raises funds to help young women finish High School in Ghana, Africa. Their annual fundraiser exceeded their goal of continuing to send 15 girls to High School for a third year in a row. With the additional funds, they will simply add to that number and help some more girls continue their education. These girls are at risk yet academically strong, and have families who wish for them to be educated, but who cannot afford their schooling. They step in by sponsoring them to cover their room and board, uniforms, food and school supplies for a whole year.
Their contributors have not only donated funds, but have also created video documentaries, brochures, banners, websites, have attended meetings, have recorded music, prepared food, held fundraisers at their homes, donated bicycles, computers and digital cameras, in essence, dedicated their time, talent and treasure to support this project.
