I'm looking for a maternity/ newborn photographer who is reasonably priced. Any referrals?

Define reasonable :-) For someone to bring $25,000 of equipment to your house, or you to visit their studio I think $350-500 is reasonable. What specifically are you looking for? Location shoot? Multiple settings/wardrobe changes? Hair and makeup artist?

Newborn photography? My Dad used a Kodak and Polaroid, his father used a Leica, and my great grandfather used a Rollei. Nice cameras. I am surprised in this day and age, a person can' take their own newborn photos. Or rather, doesn't want to.
I'm pretty sure our parents generation would scratch their head over how easy it is to make photos now, and yet people hire a stranger to do it.

025P: It's also easy to paint a picture but people still buy art. Its easy to turn a wrench but people take their car to the mechanic. Taking good photos is a skill and an art that not every one can do. Even in your grandparent's day people appreciated the talents of a good photographer.

Kacie Jean!!! She took my son's photos and her minishoots are super affordable. Much shorter time frame than a full shoot (which is good for babies anyway). She sets up multiple babies to meet at a location of her choice, and then she takes turns taking photos of the babies. I think she guarantees a minimum number of "good" shots. It is worth her while, but cheaper for the families. Kacie is also great with kids and is a young mom herself. www.kaciejeanphotographyblog.com/

Meg Fish does stunning work/portraits for both maternity and newborns. She took photos of our girls that we treasure. Stunning lighting, textures, and ability to get expressions on babies faces. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
