My house, hands down. Made them a couple of nights ago with artichoke and vidalia onion tuna salad and melty gruyere cheese on multi grain bread with tomatoes ... Yummm - meeee! Ok but since i don't make a habit of entertaining strangers, try Esau's or Brophys. With fries, of course. Or without fries, try Pierre Lafond Deli in montecito. Or take a roadtrip to a new jersey diner, they know their tuna melts.

Zookers is really good, definitely. Believe it or not, Nordstrom's cafe does a great tuna melt! But it sounds to me like 520 knows their tuna melts....can we make reservations with you, 520?

I sort of agree re Nordstrom's Cafe' but I tend to find all their stuff rather inconsistent, great one time, not so good the next. That being said, I've had many a tuna melt there and do enjoy eating lunch on the patio.

I am a HUGE fan of tuna melts and my favorites are from Norton's Pastrami and Three Pickles deli. It doesn't hurt that both places have awesome pickles to go with the sandwich!

The bagel place on the corner of La Cumbre and State ("Jacks"?) used to do an awesome open face tuna melt on any type of bagel you choose. I haven't gone back to order one in, gosh, 8 years? Wonder if they still do it, so tasty...
