Sun Sign
March 18, 2009
Sun Time Tanning in Goleta has a very cool sign. It is neon, and it includes a palm tree, much like the palm tree used in the March Edness logo. Ed really likes neon signs. They have been featured in many Where Is It pictures through the years. Joe's, Victor the Florist , and the Greyhound station are a few of the many lighted wonders that have been featured on your favorite local website.
As we have pointed out in the past, many Edhat Where Is It (EWII) subjects have vanished in thin air - in many cases, within days of our drawing attention to them. Well, as far as Sun Time is concerned; the neon light could be out forever. The sun has set. The tan has faded. Its time is over. Unless the dedicated staff of edhat.com is interpreting the newsprint on the windows incorrectly, the place is closed.
And who says that newspapers are dead? As long as businesses keep shutting, they WILL have a purpose - to cover windows.
As far as the sign is concerned, we haven't been by the corner of Magnolia and Hollister at night recently. So we don't know if the neon still burns bright, or tans bright as the case may be.
Identifying the location of the sign earned contestants two March Edness points.
