Chase Palm Park Plaque

This is the plaque at Chase Palm Park. The inscription states:
Chase Palm Park
Honoring a sister and a brother whose many contributions to Santa Barbara's beauty and welfare included establishing this park
Harold Chase, 1890 - 1970
Pearl Chase, 1888 - 1979

The plaque on the rock sits on the western end of the ocean side of the Park. Chase Palm Park is a little confusing because these days most people think of the park as the playground, the amphitheater, and the merry-go-round. Actually, these are all new parts of the park. Originally, Chase Palm Park was only the beachside area along the bikeway (beachway, whatever). That is the way it was when the park was dedicated with this plaque in 1982.
