Some of you who are new to Edhat don't remember the good old days. Ed started out his world-renowned website (hey, people are submitting Cats of the Week from England, you know) wanted to objectively quantify things, and he sent the dedicated staff of edhat.com out into the scary world of Santa Barbara each day to count things. The daily count would answer the daily question, which would in turn, help crown the daily contest winner. If there ever were a tie, the Edhat Dog would decide who would win the prize. And at the top of the list of things that Ed wanted counted were shoes, particularly women's shoes.
Yesterday, the dedicated staff once again went on a shoe hunt. The goal was (once again) to count the number of women wearing open-toed shoes, and the number of women that weren't. With tally counters in hand, we found our way to State Street … and we waited for the really big shoe to begin.
The weather was overcast. A light drizzle earlier in the day was a wonderful way to begin the summer fire season, but also a good reason to keep the summer sandals in the closet one more day. You see, some women rely on their shoes to keep their toes dry.
On the hunt for red toenails, the dedicated staff saw many pairs of Ugg boots, lots of toe-covering sneakers, and many digit-hiding flats. We even saw a man wearing real, authentic clown shoes three times the size of his feet. But no clowning around, we saw many female toes as well. Most of them were in flat, thinly strapped sandals. Overall 34.8% of all women showed at least one little piggy.
Back on topic; remember the good old days of Edhat when IronScotty won every contest? Well those days are back! Yesterday, with a guess of 34.14%, IronScotty came closest to the actual number. Scotty wins a $50 gift certificate to Blue Agave.
