April 30, 2007 - Rose Garden Ceremony

Well there are 3,895 subscribers to the Edhat Daily Newsletter. Last week, we invited all of them to the Rose Garden to celebrate the end of March EdNess and honor the contest winners. Last year we did the same, and despite the fact that we were offering free wine, only seven subscribers showed up. This year there was no free wine, so we wondered if any one would show up - except for the winner that is.

As it turned out, the turn out was better than last year. More people showed up to watch the show. LinnyG, Goodstix, and Pazzo were there of course. Also on hand were Edda Hatte, Slick, T-Baby, Hattie, Brown Squared, Tommy Noodleman, Queen Whackamole, Flotsam, Poopiepants, Lemony, and JA-in-SB. There were also two non-Edhat subscribers - Dan and Cattie. Maybe they thought there would be wine. Maybe they'll subscribe.

The awards ceremony went off without a hitch. The winners received some very nice "academy award style" trophies and certificates for FREE SHOES, compliments of our contest sponsor, Simple. There were speeches, jokes, and war-stories of finding the locations where certain photos were taken. There were also lots of pats on the back for the dedicated staff of edhat.com. We wish Ed could have been there to hear them.

If you counted them off above, you would know by now that the final count of Edhat subscribers at the awards ceremony was 14. The Edhat Dog who, by the way, was at the Awards ceremony getting many pats on the back of her own, was very disappointed to learn that only one subscriber guessed a baker's dozen plus one. Cgallery was that subscriber. She wins the award of an Edhat t-shirt.
