Roses Are Ed

February 13, 2007 - Roses Are Ed

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Yesterday, Valentine's Day was the day after tomorrow. Whether you've just fallen in love, or have been in love for almost a lifetime, it's time to think about the day ahead. Yep, it's time to make a special trip to a special place to buy that special someone something special.

At the mall, the shops that were getting special attention yesterday were shops that sell candy, cards, and lingerie. Ed, the romantic that he is, was in a good mood yesterday. Visions of hearts and cupids danced around his head like teddy bears on a picnic.
Secrets
So, when it came time to give the dedicated staff of edhat.com its daily task, we were spared the sexy underwear count, and we were spared transcribing schmaltzy poetry from Hallmark Cards. In fact all we had to do was mosey on down to See's Candy Shop and count the number people in the store. And, oh yeah - if we felt like it - we could bring back a box of dark chocolates to the office for everyone (i.e. Ed) to share.

With love in hearts, and our hearts on our sleeves, we got into our little green car and drove to the Paseo Nuevo Mall. At 4PM exactly we walked into the See's Candy Shop there. It was moderately crowded, but not packed. We counted 15 people besides us in the store - 10 customers and 5 employees. We picked up a box of chocolates, and got in line. The free candy yesterday was molasses something - very tasty.

Before we left to go back to the office, we did a little window-shopping. We saw them putting the final touches on a display window at Nordstrom,
Window
and we saw three successful shoppers toting Victoria's Secret bags. We noticed that the Peace Store is finally open. They sell t-shirts that say peace is good and t-shirts that say war is bad. It's been a long time, but if you remember, the space used to be home to the Soup Exchange.

Two Edhat subscribers guessed 15 people in the store. They are Lindsay and Apples. It could have been the love in his heart, or it could have been the box of chocolates in his tummy, but Ed decided to award a t-shirt to both winners today. What a guy!
