December 8, 2006 - We Count Ourselves
People like to hear compliments. And the dedicated staff of edhat.com is no exception in that regard. It's been very gratifying to receive all of the positive feedback from subscribers who have emailed in recent months. And when we meet people on the street and at parties, it's great to hear in person that people enjoy our online magazine and that it has become an important part of their daily routine.
When we talk to people, however, the talk inevitably turns to the Edhat business model – that top-secret plan for long-term financial sustainability that Ed has not even shared with the dedicated staff. The questions start, and the dedicated staff mumbles, yeah that's what WE'd like to know. Even the dog wants a heads up on the plan.
Well, Ed's not talking - at least not yet.
People also ask us how many hits our web site gets. That we do know. We share it with the people who ask, so we might as well share it with everyone.
For the first week of December, the Edhat website received 56,853 hits (page views). In addition, we sent out 17,922 newsletters.
As you know, Edhat provides links to news articles on other websites. These links were clicked on 7,928 times last week. In case you are curious, the top 10 news links were (in order):
