Santa Barbara Ski and Sports Club

Founded, in 1955, the Santa Barbara Ski and Sports Club is a "social" non-profit organization that offers sports and social activities at an affordable cost. Our meetings are 7:30 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays from mid-September to April at Chase Palm Park Recreation Center. We have over 200 members that want to help promote a healthy, active lifestyle and make new friends. We offer seven vacations to the mountains and lots of ways to exercise so take a look and join us!
Our main goal is to have fun skiing and snowboarding and all of our trips are offered at a break-even cost to our members. But the fun doesn't stop there. We have parties and potlucks, and enjoy active sports all year long. You don't have to ski or snowboard to join. You just need to want to meet other active adults (21+) and laugh a little.
Our kick-off meeting for the 2012 season is on September 21, 2011 from 7pm to 10pm at Chase Palm Park Recreation Center, 236 E. Cabrillo Blvd. This is a great opportunity to join the fun. Trip captains will sign up new and returning members for trips to Mammoth Mountain, Banff Canada, and North Lake Tahoe staying at North Star. Once you join, you can also attend our free kick-off BBQ at the beach on Sunday, September 25th, Santa Ynez Valley Wine Tasting Bike Ride and BBQ, Halloween costume party at SoHO, sports equipment swap meet, and more! The kick-off meeting is free.
As our President, Dennis Forster, so wisely said: "I think of us as a Fun and Fitness group. All of our activities are fun, and most involve exercise. We love skiing and boarding, but we also enjoy biking, tennis, golf, kayaking, camping, hiking and dancing! Plus we are pretty good at eating, drinking and laughing."

All our meetings are open to the public, and membership is only required if you go on ski/snowboard trips with the Club - $50.
