Again, more details would be good. If you have a small space, it makes sense to spend more on higher quality wood, larger space not so much. You want hardwood? Bamboo? Softer wood? Oak? Reclaimed pine? The best quality will not be the cheapest price. I think Affordable Hardwood would be a good place to start. More details are always good.

I second Douglas Hardwood Floors. They have always had a good reputation. They put in my hardwood kitchen floor in 1969 and it still looks beautiful.. They also stained and finished the bedroom floors which were already there, and they have held up nicely too.

I also like Douglas. They did our floors in 1989 and they looked great. We remodeled in 2006 and someone else did the floors. They need to be refinished again. Douglas is going to do the work.

Jonathan Porinsh of Craftsman Floors is by far the best. He did my beautiful hardwoods two years ago. Professional, responsive, got there when they said they would, finished the work quickly and on time. Work area always neat at end of day. Seems to run a tight ship. I would call him again.

His work is careful and precise with attention to detail, his prices are extremely reasonable, and he is an honest man who stands by his work. He made the flooring portion of our condo remodel the easiest step. We would use his services again without hesitation.

I'd go with Douglas. They've been installing floors for forty years. Not the cheapest, but reliable, good work. Done floors at two houses I've lived in, and refinished one so it looked like new.

Douglas Hardwood floors...remember, you get what you pay for! You can pay less, but will be sorry! Our floors have held up beautifully, while a friend who used a cheaper company had a lot of trouble with the floor boards warping.
