Swim Team
updated: Aug 02, 2011, 8:33 PM
My 10 year old has enjoyed refining her swimming skills this summer with private lessons and we talked about signing her up for a local swim team. She has tried karate (when she was 8), soccer (when she was 5) and softball (when she was 6) and didn't really care for them enough to want to sign up for a second season. I am cautiously excited that she loves swimming so much. I think this may be her "sport".
What swim teams/clubs are in Goleta and Santa Barbara? We're hoping for one that helps build on her skills without being over the top stressful (at first). I'd like to give her a chance to decide whether she likes swimming enough to want to pursue competitive swimming. She is really disciplined and a hard worker when she is passionate about something. She would never complain about early/long/repetitive practices. She kind of has a long distance runner mentality.
