Can anyone suggest an inexpensive caterer for a February, 2012 wedding?

What do you mean by inexpensive. Stan of Stantonsgourmet, com is good at working with someone's budget. Don't let the name scare you, although the food is excellent.

I second the vote for Stanton! He did our wedding in Feb 2009 and was awesome, took care of everything. Great staff, too!

Country Catering Company. Very reasonably priced. Ask for Steve 964-3811. He's catered numerous events for us and have never been disappointed.

Island View Catering is fantastic, affordable, very easy to work with. A couple young guys do all the work. I think they have a website. Also Karleskint Catering (Farmer Boy) if you want BBQ runs about $15/head for trip tip, chicken, bread, salad, beans. But Island View is actually better food and more varied menu.

There used to be an Edhat contributor, Ms. Lemonjelly, who did a series of reports on Taquerias in town. One in particular does catering, La Colmena. It was highly recommended. I think you and your guests would enjoy the freshly made tacos on site and I bet it would not be expensive. This would take you out of the mix, so you can enjoy your loved ones on your special day.

In reference to comment 195907 - Justen Alfama now works at Jack's Bistro catering in Carp, 566-1558. I agree, she is awesome, great to work with and she'll go out of her way for you. Good luck with your search.

I second the suggestion of Justen Alfama. She catered our wedding when she worked at Cliff's and was fantastic to work with! She worked with our modest budget and still took care of every detail. she is awesome.

I officiated for a wedding last week that used a business from Oxnard area. They were called OMG Tacos and they made hand-made tortillas and all afternoon they had fresh grilled meat, and a taco bar. It was fantastic...really the best adobado that I've had in Santa Barbara. It was a fiesta style wedding, so that worked well for them.www.omgtacos805.com. They also had vegetarian tamales, beans, rice, salsas, etc. It was a family run business. I will hire them in the future because they were great-fresh-polite, etc.
