Hiking Weekend

This was an unusual weekend for the Sierra Club hikes: I led a hike on Saturday and another one on Sunday!
My Sunday hike was to what we call "Rocky Pine Ridge". This is a beautiful ridge high above Mission Ridge that is full of... Pine trees and rocks! There are not many places in our area where you can hike among pine trees and rocks!
We do this hike the "easy way" by starting near the intersection of Gibraltar Road and East Camino Cielo.
This is one of my favorite places to take out of town visitors as it is not too strenuous and it is full of playful rock scrambling, natural beauty and spectacular views.
We had an group that was so enthusiastic and energetic we went all the way to the end of the ridge! By the way, that bright orange at the end of the ridge is not natural. It is a result of the fire retardant dropped during the Jesusita Fire.
Here at link are my photos!
And here at link is a listing of all of our Sierra Club hikes!
