The Irish drink made for Americans!

I had an authentic one at James Joyce last year. Bartender used whipping cream instead of Readiwhip. It was good.

Have to go to any pub in New York or Boston in the winter a good pub will keep a row of mugs on the bar kept filled with boiling water and constaantly topped of at all tea. The secret is to add enough wiskey buy not cool down the drink. It just doesn't get cold enough in SB you need to hire a personal Todymaster.

Yes the James Joyce is the only local place that makes them properly, and the very best place is the Buena Vista in San Francisco that has won the world championship for making Irish Coffee in Ireland. Of course Ireland makes the very best, and will not even serve you one if they don't have clotted cream on hand.

Its all about the coffee and your choice of whiskey.

Irish coffee has all 4 food groups: caffeine, sugar, cream and alcohol. I vote for James Joyce locally.

To make irish coffee the cream must not be whipped.

Yes, Dargans does not use the canned whipped cream...they use the real stuff.
