Yosemite Nature
updated: Jul 03, 2011, 3:01 PM

By EMI Photo

I spent a week in Yosemite Valley and wanted to post a few photos. A memorable moment occurred around 3am Friday morning when the whole camp was awakened by the tumbling roar of an avalanche that lasted around 40 seconds. When the sun came up I hiked towards Glacier Point (from Curry Village) to see if I could locate the slide but there were no signs of it. It was a nice perspective looking down from an area I wouldn't have normally gone. The boulder against the cabin picture was from a previous slide in October of 2008.
