Dear Edda,
I have a group of women friends with whom I work. Every so often, we meet for drinks and "girl's night" after work. There is one woman who always has to "one-up" whatever anyone says. If I say I went fishing at Lake Cachuma and caught a fish, she will say she went spearfishing in the Caymans, and speared a barracuda. It drives me crazy, but none of the others seem to mind.
We are getting together next week, and I want to tell the girls about my recent trip to the San Diego Zoo (I took some really nice photos of the lions!). I'm sort of dreading the evening because of this one woman. Do you think I'm unreasonable?
Signed,
Interesting Too

Dear Interesting Too,
Your letter reminds me of a photographic safari I once took in Kenya...
Edda
p.s. A special thank you to E.G. - Obviously, a woman of superior intellect and good taste!
