Lamp Repair
updated: Jun 30, 2011, 10:17 AM

Any referrals for lamp repair in Santa Barbara? I have several great lamps that don't work anymore for whatever reason, they probably need to be re-wired. Any suggestions on where to go?

Tri County Lighting on Milpas fixed some lamps for me years ago. I assume that they still do this. So hard to find anyone these days who wants to repair anything rather than toss and replace.

Yep, Tri County Lighting is the place to go. They have a repair shop upstairs that can do just about everything you could imagine.

The lampshade shop on upper state on the left side next to Victorian Vogue... right before the train overpass before Modoc is awesome..lamp repairs are professional and timely.

Better than tri-county, for me, has been S.B. Lampshades at 4297 Santa Barbara Street. I had a very unusual lamp repaired: the cost was moderate, the service was friendly, and it was done relatively quickly.

Santa Barbara Lampshades. I've been going there for years.

Do it yourself. It is realy very simple to rewire a lamp and the parts are available at OSH! Much cheaper too.

Definitely S.B. Lampshades. They are not expensive considering the cost of a new lamp.

I second Santa Barbara Lampshade. Just had two repaired there as well as a new shade for another one and am very happy.

WOG - there is no such number as 4297 Santa Barbara Street, so I suspect you meant State, which is where the lampshade shop is.

Santa Barbara Lampshades on State Street would be my first choice.

OP here: Ended up using Illuminations (Chris and Kate Gonzales) 527 Fig Ave SB CA 93101 (805)892-2404. Did very quick work, I will use them again and do recommend!

Illuminations Chandelier & Electrical, Inc. is the place for top notch work. The guy that runs the place is an experienced electrician and is UL certified. He is the guy if you need craftsman level work. I have a collectible halogen floor lamp that he repaired perfectly. I think he is the only guy in town that knows how to fix halogens correctly.
