While just about everything else they make absolutely sucks, Woody's BBQ has very good chicken wings. I prefer the hottest (Nuclear) wings, but they come in several different heat levels. And for a special treat you can get Woody's chicken tenders with a side of Nuclear wing sauce for dipping.

I like the idea of Woody's, but when I think of the two main flavors in their food, I think: 1. Salt 2. Grease

As a Buffalo native - Now here in SB for 27 years. I make the best wings. I use a turkey fryer and make my own sauce. The best I have had in SB are at Harry's. And they are OK. Woody's is always a disappointment. The meat is dry and tastes like it sits around most of the day.

Spent a lot of time in Buffalo as a kid, college, etc. Many a late night snack. Not to be too negative, but there are no good wings in Santa Barbara. Harry's are OK, sometimes. I have had some at the Brewhouse that were tolerable. Make your own. Don't bother ordering them anywhere. A lot of the problem is that local establishments don't start with a good raw product. If you can afford it, have them shipped in from the Anchor Bar in Buffalo. Even 1-2 days old they are still good and better than anything in SB.

China Palace in Montecito makes incredible salt and pepper chicken wings. They don't always have them, but when they do, we always order them. I've never tasted anything like them.

500 - welcome to 10 years ago. For those from back East / Buffalo - can you be more specific about what's lacking in our local wings? I'm sure it can't be the chicken, but instead the sauce. Commenter 187351 says raw product but what exactly are you alluding to? I make my own with Louisiana hot sauce and butter but I'd love to know any "secrets" you care to share!

I graduated from SUNY Buffalo and ate a lot of wings at the Anchor Bar. The key is that they have to be crispy and they always served a blue cheese dressing on the side with celery to counter the hotness of the sauce. For the sauce, it's Frank's Red Hot Sauce, butter, and red wine vinegar to taste. I did not know that the Anchor Bar would ship them.
