Okay, I used to think that Freebird's had the best nacho's because they are pretty damn good and they stack them nicely. But then I went to Baja Grill in Camino Real Marketplace and their nachos are slightly better in taste. They are my favorite. Freebirds nachos can feed about 3 people, Baja Grill's can feed one person, but the taste is much better.

Los Arroyos has my vote too!

Been to Super Cucas several times, and they don't melt the cheese :(

bigmomma, i'm going to have to second baja grill. I do not really like that restaurant as a whole, but they have the best nachos by a long shot. the "carne asada fries" at super cucas are just nachos with fries instead of chips, which is pretty good too.

oooh, Pepe's is like 3 yards from my desk and I'm getting the nacho craving.

I must admit I crave nachos with cheese sauce and sliced, pickeled jalopeno too, but that's a completely different nacho thing.

I really like Playa Azul's nachos. There is enough for one or maybe two to share. They are delicious.

I LOVE the nachos at the Elephant Bar. I would never eat anything else there and rave about it but the nachos are awesome. Maybe it's a little nostalgia as when I went to UCSB we would go there and share a prickly pear and some nachos. The designated driver ate for free...it was just a fun experience.

Baja Grill does have really good nachos, and they're inexpensive too. I like to add chicken to them! They have one of the best salsa bars too. Mmmm...now I want nachos!

Have to agree with Baja Grill having the best nachos, they make their own chips there throughout the day which is great, they don't get soggy like most places. Bigmomma their nacho portions are pretty big and could probably feed two people if you get them with meat on it. You can also get them with black beans (or pinto or both) which are super yummy, unlike most places that there is only one type of bean.

Los Agaves for me. The portions are huge, their salsa bar is great and there is WAY to much cheese on them. On the other hand, yummmmm, Freebirds.

I agree with Baja Grill. Their chicken is the best! I also say it can feed two people.

Now I have a craving...I think I might have to go get some for lunch now!

I love nachos, and many of these places have really good nachos.

On a side note, a good indication that a Mexican restaurant is good and authentic is whether or not they serve nachos. All my favs don't serve nachos, and my most favorite doesn't even have tortilla chips.

Rudy's has been slacking lately - I like my nachos layered so I have a fighting chance of gettig a little bit of everything on almost every chip. They've been putting each 'topping' in seperate piles... doesn't fare well for the chips.

My vote goes to Endless Summer for sure unless of course you make them at home!

Well i make the bestest ones in my kitchen, but if i get them out and about then los gallos on delavina are definitely the yummiest, los arroyos is a close second
