updated: Jun 16, 2011, 1:24 PM

I need to get some new screens made at my house and find 2 mobile companies in town. Any other recommendations or comments on Screenmobile vs Mobile Screens? Thank you

We used Screenmobile for window screens and 2 screen doors. Very happy with the quality and workmanship. Great guy.

Get the kits from Home Depot for a fraction of the price. You can even buy yourself a hacksaw and miter box and still come out ahead if you don't have them.

Screenmobile all the way. We've used them for years and get fast & very fair priced service.

OP here - not remotely interested in doing the build myself, though I did look into it. I was looking for feedback on the mobile guys services. Prices seemed relatively equal between the two I found so customer service and quality are of most interest.

Haven't tried Mobile Screens, but I've had the Screenmobile do two jobs at our house (new screen on sliding door, and two new screen doors), and was VERY happy with the guy, the products, and the service. I'd definitely use Screenmobile again.

It is more expensive than going to Home Depot, but if you don't do this stuff all the time it's much easier (and maybe cheaper in the long run?) than doing it yourself.

I use Santa Barbara Screen and Shade on De La Vina, you have to drive to drop off and pick them up, but I always use them.

Screenmobile. I have used them three times for my rentals. I have never had a problem. They will custom make it in your driveway. Fits perfect, no hastle.

If you would like to have your windows washed at the same time, Tomas at Time To Shine replaces the mesh on damaged or old screens very competently.

Many years ago I had Screenmobile rescreen all my windows and doors. They did an excellent job and the screens still look good as new. They are not cheap but they are worth the money.

Don't use Santa Barbara Shade and Screen on De La Vina. I did, it was shotty work and over priced.

Santa Barbara screen and shade were a real nightmare for
us. They picked up shredded shade (dog) that was part of a batch of roman shades we had ordered and installed by them, about 5 years ago, and 4 of our door screens, in early June. Then we heard nothing. No call back, nothing.
When we called them at the end of June, they had no idea what we were talking about. A week later, "they are all lost".
Now, July 17th we demanded to speak to owner, and all mysteriously turned up! S.B.Screen and Shade used to be a very reliable, company with great customer service, but were sold about 4 years ago. Sad.
