I am a licensed GC and would be happy to discuss your drain issues. I work with several waterproofing subs that we can then get quotes from.

When we were thinking about installing French drains, Santa Barbara Surfaces was recommended to us as expert, (but not inexpensive). Drains are still on our wish list, so I hope you will report back on your project.

Franzblau Landscapes 964-9515 (Neighbor had yard drainage analyzed and redone ... and I asked who did the work.)

A French drain must be distinguished because it runs all the time, non?

You might want to check about needing a building permit. I'm not sure if they still require one, but SB used to for french drains since they drain in a way that can cause runoff with chemicals. Just cover your bases, particularly if you want to sell your house at any point and just make a phone call to make sure.

Hi, I work with Chris from Botanica on projects all the time and he did a French Drain on my own home as well. 452-1527

You need a Landscape Contractor. Drainage issues can be crucial so don't skimp. You don't need a building permit unless you're doing massive amounts of regrading.
I recommend David Harlin 452-7657, David Franz 964-0832 or Franzblau 964-9515
Sals and Bros. is another reliable choice.

Jack Byers -- Jack 'n' Toolbox did ours several years ago and we have never had a problem since.

make sure the people doing the actual work are legal, if you dont mind. Its a crime for business to hire non documented people, but home owners do it all the time. Even the state of ca does it buy outsourcing, then the subs use illegals.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I will follow up and report back. It appears that I will also need a sump pump.
